- they can credibly threaten the Strait as far as insurers are concerned without a whole lot the US can do to convince the insurers otherwise

- the US has no plan and has no strategic guidance besides grandpa's cottage cheese brain

- bibi does not give a fuuuuuck about oil prices

this administration started this war because they fantasize about war like a 12 year old COD player. They wanted bomb a country into anarchy because of how 'awesome' and 'masculine' it is.

They are the biggest, most insecure idiots in American history, and we live with the consequences.

Can't believe I am saying that the Bush Administration took Iraq seriously, but Jesus Christ, in comparison.....

I was in a 2 hour briefing today on the Iran War. All the briefings are closed, because Trump can't defend this war in public.

I obviously can't disclose classified info, but you deserve to know how incoherent and incomplete these war plans are.

b. they did ZERO planning for this
c. they're freaking out now that it's leaked to the press and trying to ensure us that 'no it's not'

We profit 7 trillion dollars (equivalent to $4000.00 2026 dollars due to hyperinflation) and can barely afford a month of rent in our 1 bedroom, 10 person apartment.

We're doing the 1973 Oil Shock, but *voluntarily*, because it not occur to Dear Leader that starting a big-ass war in the Middle East would affect energy prices.

But hey, it was only Thailand. I remember speaking at a conference at¬
tended by leading U.S. officials and economists who emphasized that
while the collapse of the Thai economy was a shame and painful for
Thailand, we shouldn’t forget that the whole Thai economy amounted to
only $185 billion dollars, less than the city of San Diego. Clearly it was
no big deal. None other than President Bill Clinton seemed to agree, for
as the international community, led by Japan, struggled to put together
an emergency financial package for Thailand, Clinton declined to have
the United States participate, saying the whole problem was just “a few
glitches in the road” to global prosperity. But if it was a hiccup for Clin¬
ton, it was stomach cancer for the Thais, who remembered that when
Mexico had had similar problems in 1994, Clinton had moved heaven
and earth to put together a rescue package. The Thais also remembered
their help for the United States in Vietnam, and that the United States
had all along been pressuring them to convert to the gospel of free trade
and open financial markets. As Supachai’s comment to me in Shanghai
suggested, the Thais would not soon forget these “glitches in the road”
and the United States’ lack of response to them.

you get the feeling that american wants the benefits of being hegemon without the responsibility, sometimes

I wonder where the first American-Turkish confrontations will occur. The post-Trump US will probably embrace green energy asap so there wouldn’t be much interests in the Gulf.

Maybe Suez or Gibraltar, or even British Indian Ocean Territory. If NATO survives Trump maybe the Aegean.

I feel like most of his energy would go to something worse than January 6th in that scenario.

IMO Silicon-based fuels should be really looked into when we start developing the moon. Processing lunar regolith would leave you with so much silicon and oxygen you'd struggle to store it. The only scarce component would be hydrogen, which can be source from polar water-ice.

Lunar regolith is, typically, over 40% Oxygen, over 20% Silicon, 10% Iron, 7% Aluminum, and 1% Titanium, with the metals making up 10-20% each of the Maria.

It might not be economical until space launch supply chains are developed on the moon, but that moon dirt is valuable too.

I wonder what the chances are for the AI/Housing Bubble Crash to bring about a Farm Crisis?

That could really push us over the edge.

I have some very strong views on how the GOP needs to be treated after they lose power.

I hope the next presidential administration and Congress is willing to adequately deal with them.

I thought the plan was to still launch to the moon on the same timeline? Artemis III now refers to a 2027 LEO mission, and Artemis IV refers to the old Artemis III, the 2028 moon landing.
