Ohio: 6 schools received more than $10 million from NIH in 2024 for a total of ~$700 million. Of that, $440 million went directly to research and $260 million went to facilities and administration. The new indirect cost rate would bring that to $66 million, a loss of $194 million.

It is sort of a feminist retelling of Thomas Mann’s The Magic Mountain. Lots of the book is just tiresome men saying tiresome things about women (all based on actual writings by well known male authors and philosophers). The “horror” part is their comeuppance.
