Jeez. A clip has emerged of Donald Trump in the Oval Office discussing how people made money in the recent market fluctuations as a result of his tariffs.

"He made two-and-a-half billion today, and he made nine hundred million, that's not bad!"

And, the railway works on control periods, uk wide, for this sort of work. The current one is from April '24 to March '29.
Much as I'd like them to run trains on Saturday, truth is they aren't going to care about football after all that planning.

The engineering work is planned months and months in advance. Only if there is a need for immediate work is that not the case.
Damned if they do, damned if they don't.

As a Ted Mac regular with Max points, my main thought is about reduced capacity and further restrictions on tickets if and when they start work. From that point of view sadly a ground share suits better. Interesting times.

Word of the Day is one I keep posting at the end of the year, hoping its time will come.

β€˜Respair’, from the 16th century, is fresh hope, and a recovery from despair.

Here’s to a few drops of respair in 2025.

Irrelevent, that would have been wrong as well.
He would have had to at the time.
I still would have said it was an incorrect sporting outcome.
I actually think that Toto would not have pressed for the action taken.
Possible we'd have to agree to disagree on that point.

And all that stat proves is how important that incident was.
If you defend it you must be blind to fair competition.
After all the Race Director of the time was moved and then left.
Procedures with comms to officials were changed and with v good reason.
Max is a great talent.
His actions raise ???

#afcb towards the bottom of the β€œmoney for TV” list so far this season. Instead of squeezing matchgoers maybe the powers that be should be treading on some Broadcaster corns…

Shame that he has so little class.
Showing some humility would go a long way to improve his relationship with F1 fans.
Thanking them for their support at the end of a race, without being reminded, would be a start.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but you don't need to justify your reading preferences and choices to anyone. Audiobooks count as reading. Also, you don't have to finish books you don't enjoy. Don't read to impress, read for yourself. Life's too short, love yourself, ok?

I too am afraid you are right.
I would never suggest you shouldn't seek their help. I'm sorry if I implied that.
I worked in benefits and the lack of an enquiry office in towns for people to go into face to face is a travesty.
I loved helping people, but sadly those offices are gone.
I wish you luck

The form is complex because means testing is complex. Hence the debate between universal payment and a means test.
Having worked in the means tested benefit sector it is not the desire to produce a form to stop people claiming. A great deal of time is expended trying to slim the forms I can say.

Perhaps I'm being a bit critical of ML because he does so much good.
What I know from my experience is as soon as complexity or form length is mentioned it's a red flag.
Yes not enough help is available. Much due to the last govt hating civil servants. Charities can help bit should not be relied o

Been an enduring problem encouraging take up of Pension Credit & it's predecessors.
Commentators continue to emphasise the forms length, not pointing out many of the questions are irrelevant to most applicants. For Martin Lewis to fall into this trap is surprising.
It stops deserved people applying
