This is short sighted. Using ChatGPT as a search engine misses that the LLM does not give you sources and the information provided cannot be verified . Google, whilst not as good for search now (ads) at least shows you where the information comes from and you can then choose to trust/mistrust

Dude, the problem here is that an LLM doesn’t know what a β€œfact” is and has no way to codify this

We can strike because we benefit from a strong union, and are paid above a living wage.

The majority of hospital workers do not benefit from these positions and are suffering all the more for it!

Many of the lowest paid are working for private companies gouging the NHS.

I strike for them too

A Costa coffee machine. Two vending machines with essentially empty shelves over than 3 pasty slices, a sandwich, 4 yoghurt clusters, one tomato salad.

A Costa coffee machine. Two vending machines with essentially empty shelves over than 3 pasty slices, a sandwich, 4 yoghurt clusters, one tomato salad.

This is the only food and drink provision for all of the overnight staff in your local hospital (not free!). A specific case but representative!

This is why your doctors are striking.

Racist incidents against UK nurses surge by 55% Royal College of Nursing calls on government to stop using anti-migrant rhetoric, which it says emboldens racist behaviour

This is what tolerance of anti-migrant political rhetoric leads to. A surge in racial abuse against nurses and care workers. www.theguardian.com/society/2025...

If a Labour government with 400 seats which has nailed its colours to the masts of planning reform and the green transition can't steam roller people like this and their ridiculous selfish BS objections, then what on earth is the point of it?

People simply don’t know enough about the AI hype train and think it’s a panacea β€” it’s starting to remind me of the radium craze

obviously this is mental in and of itself but man alive it really does suck extra hard when you think about all the ACTUAL CRIMES the police just isn't investigating, because of "lack of resources"

Honest mistakes happen. But can't help but feel that (in a healthcare landscape being flooded with private "AI") that the published evidence from these companies demands *extra* scrutiny.

For balance, the authors were listed as "affiliated" but still feels a big miss on the financial interests

Corrigendum to β€˜Use of an ambient artificial intelligence tool to improve quality of clinical documentation’ Future Healthcare Journal Volume 11, Issue 3, September 2024, 100157

Can't help but feel like RCP's FHJ have allowed this AI company to bury the lede here in a corrigendum?

"Oh by the way that article we wrote from >6months ago? Yeah we forgot to say we have competing financial interests..."

Would be interested to hear your views on how AI dictation assistants (such as Heidi AI) which are being quite widely adopted in primary care fit into this paradigm. They do not seem to have undergone much (publicly available) evaluation

This is excellent - always mildly frustrated by the lack of specific language when "AI" is thrown about in the clinical sphere! Machine learning β‰  ChatGPT!
