Starfleet Academy drop nite! Ep109, “300th Night” is directed by a... *checks notes* Jonathan Frakes? Story by Kirsten Beyer & Kenneth Lin. Can’t believe it’s the penultimate ep. It’s been a long road, getting something something, but hopefully you’ve enjoyed it as much as we’ve enjoyed sharing it.
But a very serious tasting cake.
I’m willing to bet it’s a pretty big Venn diagram of people who love Trek and love the Muppets. 🤞
Some of our folks currently on the Star Trek Cruise shared this cosplay with me from the other night.
Even though we’ve only shown a very small peak at Puppet Pike thus far, this cosplay is scarily episode accurate.

The goal and hope was to make it easy to jump onboard without homework. At most, you’ll just need to understand that The Burn was a cataclysmic event that people in this world are still recovering from.
I found the episode to be a little magical realism coded, given the story and it being from SAM’s pov. So to me, elements like this, her writing on the screen, the freeze frames, were just leaning into the uniqueness of how the story was being told.

He does really great work! #spoilers: I love the subtle reveal of the museum cameo. And the reaction shot of the gang after the first punch kills me every time. So many great small touches.
Slight #spoilers: Even if you don’t know DS9, the team did a great job of also just telling a story about a kid whose parents say she needs to be one thing, but now at college she’s realizing she wants to be something else. Just love how it works on both levels.
I need to tell the P+ team to serve that up as the “play next” option on the platform.
