I respectfully disagree. I don’t think you’re considering that humanity isn’t a monolith and we all have different desires, wants and needs. That’s not silly to me, it’s what makes us human.
That’s silly because it’s a boundary. If me and my partner agreed to monogamy, and they cheated on me, I would not be with them anymore. I cannot be with someone who violates boundaries and also someone I cannot trust. It’s not about possession.
And that’s totally fine but that’s how you should word/frame it. It’s about your personal preference, others have different preferences and that’s ok.
I don’t think framing it as possession applies to everyone. To some? Sure. But some people are more inclined to a specific dynamic that’s tied to their identity and want to be with others who are too. Demisexuality exists! We know queerness branches in many directions, monogamy can be a part of that
Someone could question why you feel the need to be open (not me, each to their own!) We’re all diverse. Personally, I can only have sex with people I have a connection with or have feelings for. I have no desire to have sex with other people outside of a relationship so being open would be pointless
