Coming from someone that buys commissions frequently, if I see someone asking me to pay using "friends and family" I run away so fast. Making sure you have a proper invoice protects you and also protects the client. Family and friends tell me you're going to take my money and I'll never get the art.

I will be staring at this for the next year. The lighting, the weight you can see Ishmael feels. I am absolutely drinking it all in.

You should try raising your price at least a little then! Price setting for commissions can take trial and error. Adjust up, give it time and see if you've still got enough people chomping at the bit. You can always adjust prices back down some if it seems you went too high.

I think you could charge more and still get orders. It's a difficult balance for sure though! I hope you're at least charging enough so the time it takes to complete an order gives you a healthy amount over minimum wage in your area is. Don't pay yourself less than some company would!

Drowned my sorrow in Korean BBQ and crane games. At least *most* things I hadn't moved over yet were just art, which I can just dig back up and save again. Still a little sad to lose the D&D recordings, but at least I have audio only backups saved.

Glad I try to keep copies of important files on my external. Anything that I hadn't gotten around to (video files of D&D sessions for one) are going to be lost, as my usual IT guy wasn't able to get it back up and running without a full utter wipe, which he's going to have to do in the morning.

I dared to think about streaming today. ☠️
