Amazing. Congratulations on 36 years.
Starting afresh is scary but it is never too late to do so. I share what I have learnt ok this journey of mine.
I went a bit quiet on here. Navigating the sea of change. I transferred to the Bar and started my journey with Trinity Chambers in Newcastle/Middlesbrough. Focusing on completing my 3 months of practising pupillage and every step taken so far has been a humbling experience.

A fantastic name for a case ST v AR (STAR) [2025] EWFC 4
2025 is off to a good start in the world of financial remedy.
I’ve updated the first starter pack, adding some new UK lawyers. go.bsky.app/5F86oZU
A lady was staring at me at the supermarket yesterday whilst out shopping with my little girl and mum. I was a little uncomfortable so kept my focus on what I was picking but then she just blurted out, “you look like a model, are you one”, warm smiles all around. I replied, I am not but thank you.
Definitely like that about this app.
Last day of the year! Wishing everyone a wonderful, healthy and incredible 2025 ahead.
Everyone knows how amazing Andrew Powell is. He is my AP, my brother, my friend and I was equally proud and honoured to have had the opportunity to hand him his well deserved award. Your 2024 International Family Lawyer of the Year.
@lexisnexis.bsky.social
Congratulations to you and your team. It was lovely to see you at the FL awards on Wednesday.
Is this just my luck or does everything kick off on cases just as you put your OOO on! I am only out for the day and I am frantically typing emails & sending various actions for my team! Someone send more caffeinated drinks
Final hearing of wife's financial remedies application, where the main assets were the former matrimonial home and the husband's pensions. W awarded 22% of equity (primarily as H had been sole carer of children), plus pension share. www.bailii.org/ew/cases/EWF...
That would be great. Love them 😂
Welcome to BlueSky @mbataillard.bsky.social
Starter packs by @seanjones.org - please share so we can reclaim the tolerant and generous legal community we once had on ‘that’ other place.
I attended a lunch and learn event hosted by women in law UK a few years ago and we were talking about caring for our minds to avoid mental overload. One of the best tips I was given was to have a note pad by my bed to jot down my ideas and avoid the urge to grab my phone. A game changer
I am pleased to see the growth of the legal community here on Blue Sky. More are coming so I am told.
A very timely reminder here about our social media duties
Welcome Jo.
If you know any aspiring lawyers, do share this with them. Fantastic opportunity to get information about a career in the law. 5,000 sign ups already! And with Baroness Hale, not to be missed.
Appreciate the feedback. Agree re the report and its findings. A lot to look at touching on various aspects of Domestic Abuse in our every day cases.
New report by Resolution out today on Domestic Abuse in Financial Remedy Proceedings has been summarised by Jennifer Lee of Pump Court Chambers and I. Report was spearheaded by Olivia Piercy of Hunters and Anita Mehta of 4PB. A must read for all.

Really chuffed to have won the award for regional champion at the Resolution awards last night. We never know where life will lead us, from Nigeria to London detoured through Huddersfield for my LPC and then to Darlington. Could never have foreseen where I am right now. Gratitude is a must.
Violence against women is abhorrent and must not be tolerated in all corners of our society. For Rebecca’s children, their mum and breadwinner is now no longer with them.
Sending love to her loved ones.
We must do better to stop abuse in all forms.
Rest on Rebecca Cheptegei
It has been one heck of a day preparing for a hearing which is likely to settle and which I hope will settle to ensure conclusion of a very long drawn out case for all involved. Fingers crossed that tomorrow sees me getting it over the line.
Day 1 of 14 days of tips for pupil supervisors -
Take it seriously.
Your pupil has worked very hard to get here. In the vast majority of cases, they will have spent a lot of money to get here.
This is barrister finishing school.
It looks delicious.
They are such a great idea.
