...and?
No lessons ever seem to be learned do they? π€
Yeah, I think FIFA will just stick its collective head in the sand and try to ignore everything but it's gonna get messy eh!
Oh don't get me started on FIFA, I have nothing but contempt for them.
I think the optics are terrible either way though, especially after all the sucking up Infantino has been doing to Trump.
Fair point but let's just move it. It's partly in Mexico and Canada anyway, see if they can hold the remaining matches. If not, Brazil has the infrastructure to step in.
Ban USA though, as they have defied international law with this illegal war.
I've spent the last couple of years pulling away from big business & oligarch owned social media sites. I've deleted FB, X, Amazon etc and feel much better.
I still relied on Google though, I felt trapped by the saved passwords but I've finally moved to Duckduckgo...& you can import the passwordsππ
They're all as stupid as they are evil... and that's no mean feat. π
Thanks nmet, that's really kind of you. No rush though, don't be using up your time in MC, wait until you get home. π
Ha, it took me a few seconds to compute but yes I realised. π
Amen to that.
I've been checking out images of the parade, it looks fabulous. I'm slightly jealous, have a great time.
Ah ok, thanks for that. So he was already one of the worst of the worst. You seem to have so many of them. π
Oh wow, how fascinating. Thank you for educating me, it's great that their legacy lives on and that they're widely celebrated in Mexico. It's also interesting and incredibly sad that much of their motivation for switching sides would be just as relevant right now.
Among many other suitable epithets, I reckon the Dunning-Kruger administration would be an appropriate term for them. π
I hope you're having a great time in Mexico City. π
Last week Trump said he didn't need Britain's help because he'd already won this war. So we mustn't let him push the UK around now.
Any decision on the deployment of our Armed Forces should be made in the UK's national interest and subject to a vote in Parliament.
Look after yourself, take care. We'll still be here when you return, hopefully with a diagnosis and a route forward. π€
Apparently not. If they're not going to stop after all the appalling things that have happened so far, and the implications of the Epstein files, I genuinely don't think there's a red line for them at all. π
What a disgusting and dangerous message he's sending there. I don't know who he is but this needs to be slapped down asap!
Well there's a shock. π
President of Colombia, Gustavo Petro,
"There is no superior race, gentlemen"
"There is no people chosen by God"
"Neither in the United States nor Israel"
"Ignorant far-right fundamentalists think this way"
"The people chosen by God is all of humanity"
It was always going to be a blue state wasn't it.
I think we did, didn't we? π€
Ed Miliband must step in and bar Tesla from holding an energy licence.
Elon Musk is a threat to our national security and clearly not a fit person to operate in our energy industry.
We canβt have the lights go out because heβs having a strop on X.
Spot on Ed. He's the last person who should be anywhere near any of our national infrastructure, how could we trust him to provide a vital service at a fair price given all the evidence he's constantly giving us that he's a vain, spiteful, churlish sociopath (amongst many other disturbing traits)?
It's like the school blazer that my mum bought me aged 11 that I would "grow into"... which I finally did aged 15. π€£
I like Ed Davey. He talks a lot of sense and isn't afraid of saying what needs to be said.
I disagree with him on this though. It was the result of a public consultation, and it's not like there's nothing else that is dedicated to Churchill.
He won't be forgotten, let's have wildlife on our notes.
It's always women isn't it, he's a repugnant misogynist (on top of everything else). π‘
Long may that last, NM does sound like an oasis of sanity. π
He tended to ingratiate himself with awful people and get them to hang themselves with their own words and actions. He did the same with Westboro Baptist Church, Eugene Terreblanche and others in South Africa, some televangelists and many others.
LT started out doing really interesting documentaries about people on the fringes of American society. Some harmless, some scary. Gritz was definitely in the latter category, but I'd suggest that quite a few in the docs would be considered quite mainstream now. π
Oh I remember him from somewhere, I think he featured in a Louis Theroux documentary... he was a proper lunatic as I recall.
