I think its more complex for folks of lower SES. What do you do if you joined the armed forces to get out of the school to prison pipeline or to give yourself a place to sleep at night? Its not an easy decision to make

Someone I worked with for a small bit of time and seemed like a reasonable fellow signed up to join the armed forces earlier in the year. His enlistment date was sometime in early Jan. I can't imagine any of this is what he thought would happen.
