Plants use cell-surface and intracellular receptors that collaborate to detect pathogens🦠. We discovered that a key #ubiquitin recognition event recruits both receptor types into an unexpected dual receptor complex that boost the translation of defence proteins and establishes robust #PlantImmunity👇🏾

In Arabidopsis it only really works in certain immune mutants such as efr1 or npr1, but that probably doesn’t help your complementation study!?!

How does immunisation establish durable disease resistance in plants?
Mobile immune signals released upon immunisation boost effectiveness of the defence hormone salicylic acid by ten times!😲 This results in higher immune gene expression and systemic acquired resistance against infection.

Bacterial pathogen deploys the iminosugar glycosyrin to manipulate plant glycobiology The extracellular space (apoplast) in plants is a key battleground during microbial infections. To avoid recognition, the bacterial model phytopathogen Pseudomonas syringae pv. tomato DC3000 produces ...

Pseudomonas syringae secretes the iminosugar glycosyrin to block plant immune recognition. It mimics galactose to inhibit β-galactosidase, disrupt flagellin sensing, and rewire host glycobiology!
