I loved Discovery. Other than Deep Space 9 it really showed that these people were flawed. It gave so many of these flawed characters redemption arcs and allowed them to grow.

I remember reading about them wanting Spock to be red but because there still were so many black and white televisions he would end up looking black so they abandoned that idea.

And that first multiracial kiss was forced so it carries less impact now than it did then. I think only since maybe Star Trek Discovery have we seen Roddenberry's true vision.

Since then many of the a Federation captains have been female. Or alien. Saru on Discovery and now Ake on Starfleet Academy are the first non humans to helm a Starfleet vessel.

He still was raised on the foundation of the puritans so his vision still was somewhat tainted by being brought up in that world. He rarely showed women in power in the Federation. Captain Janeway was the first real Federation captain that I can remember. And that was after Roddenberry died.

I can see that especially with what is going on in America right now.

This is what is pissing some people off. It celebrates diversity. It revels in learning new things and becoming educated. Nothing irks the conservative mind more than having to confront a healthy LGBT relationship let alone it being between a human and a biracial mix of Klingon and Jem'hadar.

Wouldn't be surprised if we're a couple of weeks away from someone leaking the rest of the files.

The minute we find out that they inadvertently released some files that had Trump in them and immediately deleted them, we knew without a shadow of a doubt they are withholding the most damaging files.

Next Generations first season has a ton of stumbles. This shows can and most likely will be good one it gets it's footing. They have too many good actors on this show.

I think it was probably the first time Star Trek treated the Klingon culture with the respect and understanding that have really only given to the Vulcan culture.

That show was fantastic. Loved how it tied into the movie. It was smart and fun. Criminal that it only got one season.

The last couple of episodes are probably the strongest.

You don't know what you're missing. Ben Kingsley is fantastic in this show.

All three benefit by having the extra scenes. I always thought the ROTK benefited more. The mouth of Sauron scene alone completely changes what happens next. Aragon's "For Frodo" hits completely different.
