As I write this on the 24th anniversary of Robert H. Rimmer’s passing, it is hard to believe he has been gone that long. He was ever an inspiration to me.

A marketer asked me: why did you switch from being a self published author to publishing traditionally?
Self-publishing requires about ten different skills that I'm not good at. I didn't edit very well. The editors at the traditional publishers push me much harder to turn out a really good story.

Awesome! I just hit 12k on my new novel also. I'm working on a murder/mystery thriller with supernatural underpinnings...very different from my SF roots. It's tough changing genres sometimes-tho Dan Brown did it, and did it well.
