The Indigenous People of North America have decided to go back to calling the Gulf of Mexico, β€œChalchiuhtlicueyecatl”. It is what the Nahuatl People originally called it as it is the domain of the goddess Chalchiuhtlicue, who is assoc w/water bodies, including the Gulf of Mexico.

A word that should get a lot of use over the next 4 years:
Unasinous(Adjective) Displaying ignorance or foolishness by all, sharing stupidity.
"Electing a salesman as president and expecting him to help the common consumer is unasinous."

Me: Hmm. I'm feeling stressed. How about I search for another book to buy?

Little voice in my head: What if you stopped being addicted to BUYING books - and you started being addicted to READING them?

My Reading Odyssey: Webster's Dictionary. My parents invested in this monster of a book in the very early 60's. It was also a compact version of an encyclopedia. It captured my elementary mind and became a regular read. And it was illustrated no doubt leading to my love of comics.

The combined net worth of America's twelve wealthiest people passed $2 trillion last year.

12 people. $2 trillion.

Meanwhile, U.S. homelessness increased 18% in 2024.

Our problem isn’t an issue of resources.

Our problem is ever-expanding wealth inequality.

A scent that still lingers 60 years after I first breathed it in is(was) that of well read books and basement. The children's library in my home town was in the basement of the main library. There was something comforting in it and still gives me a warm hug when I think of it.
