Trump is always looking for an excuse to help Putin. He lifted oil sanctions on Russia today “temporarily” for 30 days.
I thought I had backed it up but apparently it wasn’t :(
I just want to point out that over 42% of Russian spending so far in 2026 is not covered by revenue. The boost in oil and gas revenue that's expected over the next few weeks will not be enough to remedy that.

*3.4 trillion ruble deficit. Sorry! 3.786 trillion is the amount budgeted for the whole year.
My computer crashed and I lost all my NWF data 😭
I’m rebuilding it over the next month.
Russia is starting the year off strong… strongly in the negative, that is.
Russian federal budget surplus / (deficit):
Prune dear, check REPO today. 🍿

The Russian budget recorded its worst first two months ever, with the estimated deficit coming in at 3.786 trillion rubles for Jan-February. That number is almost certainly an underestimate, and is probably about 2 trillion rubles higher when taking into account the consolidated budget deficit.
A crisis in Russian banking? The central bank injected 6.74 trillion rubles of liquidity into the banking system today, by far the largest ever recorded. 🚨
On the same day the AP reported that Russia was giving Iran intel to kill Americans, Trump is easing oil sanctions on Russia.

A federal judge has ruled all of Kari Lake’s actions at RFE/RL and Voice of America are null and void. She laid off most of the staff and effectively shut down VoA.
"Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on Friday said the United States could remove sanctions from more Russian oil, a day after Washington issued a 30-day waiver allowing the sale of Russian crude currently stranded at sea to continue to India."
Every day, another favor for Russia?🙄
".. Shutting in an oil well risks long-term damage to reservoir pressure and incurs high restart costs, usually making it a measure of last resort. Restarting production can take days or even weeks .."

Brent crude is now up to $91.75 a barrel 😭
The Trump administration has issued a 30 day waiver on Russian oil sanctions, a huge relief for Russia’s budgeters.
Republican leadership has asked Rep Tony Gonzalez (R-Texas) to withdraw his nomination from the Republican ticket for 2026. He pressured his married staffer for sex, and she set herself on fire. The staffer was the second R-Texas staffer to die by suicide; Rep. Beth Van Duyne’s also had done so.
The Bank of Russia injected 2.99 trillion rubles worth of liquidity via REPO into the Russian banking system.
There are just a smidge over 4 trillion rubles in liquid assets remaining in the National Wealth Fund (rainy day account) of the Russian Federation.

😂😂😂😂😂 In a country where you can cook all the books, admitting a decline in the economy means the crisis is much worse than 2.1%.
Now Sen. Steve Daines is retiring just 5 minutes left until the filing deadline. His favored candidate, US Attorney Kurt Alme, filed for election just afterward, robbing GOP voters of a primary election.
Something is happening in Montana. Daines is just 63.
Germany’s intelligence service put Russia’s federal budget last year at 8 trillion rubles, which is in line with my analysis. The BND accuse the Russians of hiding the true budget deficit.

What I believe to be final results in the Arkansas #HD70 (Harris+2) special election:
Alex Holladay (D)- 59.7%
Bo Renshaw (R)- 40.3%
Holladay flips this suburban Little Rock seat blue and outperforms Harris in this Trump-Harris district by 17 points!
I’ve seen enough: Jasmine Crockett LOSES the Texas Democratic primary.
Urals jumped to $60 a barrel, exactly the price Russia needs for its genocidal budget. 😡
