There will never be another band like Rush.๐ค๐ Neil, Geddy and Alex defined the power of what just 3 musicians can achieve with their combined enormous talent. Peart was, for me, the greatest writer/percussionist ever. This solo shows why he was The professor.โบ๏ธ

In Melbourneโs shadowed corners, they remain. Watching. Waiting. Remembering.

Tucked into the hills, the Pig & Whistle feels like it was plucked straight from the English countrysideโcomplete with Sussex ales, vintage beer signs, and a pint under the gum trees. Doesn't it make you thirsty?

The Veil Remembers is an ethereal study of absence. Rendered in cool, smoky tones, a veiled figure emerges from the void โ its form barely held together by threads of light and memory. The figureโs head is bowed, features obscured by translucent fabric that seems both protective and suffocating. The heavy darkness surrounding it amplifies its spectral fragility. This painting speaks of grief, forgotten selves, and the ghosts we carry โ not terrifying, but tenderly unresolved. It is presence and disappearance at once. Art copyright ยฉYves Broeckx

In our human frailty, Lord,
we so often think peace
is the limiting of conflict,
and seek it by
separation and division,
by borders, barriers
and bombast.
You know peace is
wholeness, relationship,
unity in diversity and difference.
Guide us in your way and wisdom.
They have the right to sell and we have the right to buy or not buy. Having said that, what kind of miserable excuse for a human being celebrates this treatment of others with merchandise?
04.07.2025 23:39 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0The Hmong turban reflected in a floor-length mirror. This distinctive headwear, particularly common among Hmong from Xieng Khuang Province, is a symbol of Hmong identity and cultural heritage, often passed down through generations. While traditionally hand-wrapped, modern adaptations include pre-made turban-style hats for convenience.
The turban is not just a piece of clothing, but a symbol of Hmong heritage, and is often worn on special occasions and ceremonies.
In the late 20th century, Hmong women began sewing the fabric into hat-like shapes for ease of wear, and modern variations incorporate different fabrics, colors, and decorations.
The turban is traditionally created by wrapping a long, dark-colored fabric (often indigo, purple, or black) around the head, with the siv ceeb (black and white striped fabric) placed across the forehead.
The hand-wrapped Hmong turban, a traditional headdress worn by Hmong women in Laos, is typically made by wrapping a long piece of dark purple or black fabric around the head, topped with a black and white striped fabric called a siv ceeb.
