OK I’m apparently several months late on this but I just found out Julia Grosso and Jeremy Pena are dating.

Kinda interested to know the numbers re: pro soccer/baseball couples. Feels like a lot? Wonder if anyone’s doing a deep dive into this.

But I'm super excited and grateful for this opportunity to be a part of the inaugural NSL season. I know so many Canadian soccer fans are waiting eagerly for kickoff on Apr. 16, and I'm honoured I'll get to play a role in broadcasting this league across Canada. (3/3)

This doesn't mean I'm leaving TSN. Seems apt to borrow a soccer term - I'm "on loan" to Dome for the year, and I'm set to return to TSN in 2026.

Vancouver Rise have announced the signing of Samantha Chang, a former Cdn youth standout who has been capped at the sr level.

Rise’s midfield is looking strong.
I also like the preseason Toronto-Vancouver rivalry. Toronto signed BC-native Emma Regan, so Vancouver gets GTA-native Sam Chang.

It’s official - Quinn is joining the Vancouver Rise.

Fans may debate which name has been the biggest signing - Quinn, Desiree Scott, Erin McLeod - but Quinn is the first active, “in their prime” #CanWNT/#CanXNT player to join the NSL.

This has been rumoured for a bit (and Nikki Stanton all but confirmed it with some social media posts), but Quinn is a massive name for Vancouver & the NSL.

‘Integrity’ the word of the day as Canada Soccer introduces Casey Stoney | TSN Canada Soccer has seemingly become accustomed to dealing with daunting tasks, including an Olympic scandal last year that garnered international headlines.

"One thing people can't question about me is my integrity and my principles."

At Casey Stoney's introductory media conference, "integrity" was the main theme. But she also made it clear she doesn't believe she needs to repair the reputation for #CanWNT/#CanXNT

A big extension for Jayde Riviere (who’s turning 24 next week) with Manchester United. Her new contract extends her stay with the club until June 2028, with an option for an additional year.

It’s official - Casey Stoney is the new head coach of #CanWNT/#CanXNT.

According to the release - her hiring is supported by philanthropic contributions to Canada Soccer, and she is the first beneficiary of a new fund established specifically to support women in elite coaching.

Joshua Kloke & Charlotte Harpur of The Athletic are reporting that Casey Stoney is set to take over as head coach of #CanWNT/#CanXNT.

This would be an excellent hire by Canada Soccer.

Keep in mind - PWHL was in a unique position because it was a league largely created by players, beginning with the PWHPA. NSL clubs still don’t have their rosters filled. So you need players to have a PA/CBA.

Big Canadian signing news this morning - Mia Pante signs her first pro contract with AS Roma, joining Evelyne Viens.

Pante has represented Canada at various youth levels, including the 2022 U20 World Cup.

Gilles & David announced as Players of the Year for #CanWNT & #CanMNT respectively - IMO, the 2 clear favourites for their national teams.

Emma Humphries has left her position as Canada U-17 women’s head coach and NDC director for Canada to be appointed the Wellington Phoenix academy director.
