2025 OPA Jam – post mortem The deadline for 2025 One-Page Adventure Jam "Echoes of the Builders" has come and gone. Six submissions this year, from puzzles to potential planetary doom, the dangers of human curiosity, altered minds, and moral choices. The voting has started on Facebook. In about a week we should know the winner and soon thereafter some dates will be decided for the live-stream of the winning submission.

Ship Qualities The Couple Reactor and Parallel Reactor qualities do the same thing in different ways. I'd suggest you to choose one to test in your game. I prefer the Parallel Reactors for gameplay reasons, but I can see arguments for preferring "Coupled Reactor".

Tactical spaceship maps (update) A small update of the tactical spaceship maps (found here) has been finished, as asked for by at least one person a few years back. The colours have been adjusted, and the font has been adjusted to make the damage dice code is more legible. Both the print and VTT versions have been updated, in colour and black and white. Format is still A3 sized. Different dimensions can possibly be made, also different resolutions. Just comment below and let me know.

Writing for the OPAJ: Familiarity and proficiency Familiarity with game mechanics and a game's setting seems like obvious prerequisites to write an adventure. I am not saying it is not. However, it is not. Not really. It takes a brave person to write an adventure for a game and world with which they may only have passing, limited, or superficial knowledge. However, it is certainly doable. Writing a one page adventure certainly requires some skill.

Trying to figure out or structure your process could lower the threshold for taking part in the jam. There are many ways to break down a process.
