Therefore, any time the game gives you an escort? Your job is to be the worst escort mission NPC ever and train every enemy for miles to them.

Supposedly it's front projected light, aka the neon ping-pong balls and such were just reflectors and they bathed the scene in neon.

It's both very very corny and immediate endearing for how practical it was. I can't hate it at all.
