โThis is the largest legal action concerning environmental pollution ever brought in the UK. In a context where government and regulators have failed to prevent degradation of our rivers the court has become last avenue for justiceโ

Kendrick should be asked how many non-white faces he sees in his constituency town of Newark before he lectures other communities on integration and multiculturalism. Newark is 95% white and 2.5% Black/Asian.

Water company United Utilities promised to spend ยฃ129m to connect private septic tanks to the mains network and reduce sewage pollution.
Spent ยฃ76.7m over the last 25 years.
UU paid nearly ยฃ13bn in dividends since privatisation

Wondering why @the-wildlifetrusts.bsky.social is dumb on this platform. Many individual county trusts are active here, reaching the huge environmental/conservation/natural history community that has left X. Sadly the Essex Wildlife Trust is still not among them.

20.09.2025 07:13 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0These policies were popular but Corbyn failed (just) in 2017 because May bought support from the DUP and in 2019 because of the propaganda war whipped up over antisemitism by factions in the party.
The apparent failure of Your Party is in part due to the dominance of one issue - Palestine.
Mr Pecksniff and I crossed virtual swords over his patronising dismissal of Your Party. Events have proved him right but I can't let his remark about the dotty left pass. What was dotty about public ownership of utilities, welfare reform that reduced child poverty, and a progressive tax regime?
