I started harrow again, but then a bunch of books I put on hold came in and I had to put it down to read the ones with deadlines. 😭 but I’ll be happy to get back to harrow after this ginormous 800 page thing my husband is making me read

I…loved downton abbey 😂 but I need my period fluff in batches with a lot of something else in between. Once I’m done this series I won’t touch anything pre 20thC for a while.

I love this so much and I need it as a printable that I can just hand to people and walk away because I’m so goddamned tired of having this conversation.

A thousand stitches is no. 2. But yeah, in the book Sophie sews charm into a jacket for howl. She isn’t necessarily only magic through sewing, it’s more about how she talks to a thing as she makes it, so she made a bunch of magical hats and a scarecrow too, but it was a little too on the nose.

A hand but the fingers fade into a purplish blue…zombie fingers, if you will.

Not sure how I felt about this last one, I think I might downgrade my rating because it borrows pretty heavily from Howls Moving castle

Apparently he is upset because I told him he would know the animal (I was thinking he would know what a donkey was) but he had no clue there was a wild donkey living on the steps, which…seems like the whole point of the game to me. And by upset I mean, challenging my win, not like actually upset.

We play something we call “the animal guessing game” when we are on public transit. Started when the kiddo was very little but now we’re all so good at it that we have to choose pretty random animals to stump each other. Husband is mad because I stumped him with Tibetan Wild Donkey (Kiang).

One time I dropped my phone and I realized when my Bluetooth suddenly cut out. It goes not quite the length of the first floor of my house and that’s it.

Oh no I love the whole series it’s equally if not more confusing as it goes on! I’m rereading in hopes of manifesting a pub date for Alecto, but also because I can’t remember anything that happens in Harrow and Nona.

My favourite part of starting a new month is getting my Storygraph stats. A lot of rereads this month, some YA I was reading with the kiddo or pre-reading in an attempt to get her interested in it.

I got a lot of old grandma’s looking to buy books for their grandkids but giving me the “this is what’s wrong with young people” speech the whole time.

I should say, old *white* ladies. Specifically.

Yes. I worked at Indigo for a long time and was trapped more than once by…well mostly men, who really wanted to rant at someone. My least favourite was the angry giant Austrian who was mad about what the Quebecois have done to French (which I don’t speak more than asking where the washroom is).

I want the Merlin App but for bugs. Is anyone making that? I want a life list of local wigglies that also helps a university track bugs or whatever.

That’s where I was thinking, I haven’t even really had time to research alternatives yet, not in any real way. I don’t have a ton of needs tho, really just not having to pay mailchimp prices for my modest list.

It’s on the To Do List, not super high priority unfortunately, so it will happen eventually, but not immediately. Might have to wait until after the holidays at this point (I’m in holiday production mode now and the madness won’t stop until January).

I dunno that anyone cares currently, but in case you were wondering, yes, I’m still on substack. No, I’m not planning to stay, but like most small business owners/artists I am overwhelmed with a never ending to do list and a limited amount of executive function.

Yeah, the book was not a comedy, and I think I like the movie a little less for that aspect. Didn’t get a chance to finish it last night tho, so opinions are only about 1/2 formed. Still good tho!

Well I watched about half before I had to put a kid to bed and aviv came home, and I’m very much loving it. A little sillier/more lighthearted than the book but that was expected.

Finally getting to watch Nightbitch. I really enjoyed the book, but also I feel like I might relate a little too hard and then explode.

I’m happy she’s getting a chance to relax and be creative. I’m gonna try to make some time for her to continue at my kitchen table between courses.
