Bluesky now demands age verification for Ohioans but Pornhub says the Communications Decency Act supersedes Ohio Revised Code 1349.10 because Pornhub provides “interactive computer services.”

I guess I can see why Pornhub is willing to take a legal risk that Bluesky isn’t. Still, very annoying.

Bluesky rolls out age verification for users in Ohio | TechCrunch Users in Ohio will have to verify their age to use Bluesky's social network as of Monday.

Tomorrow, @bsky.app will begin requiring all users in Ohio to submit facial scans, government IDs or other identity info to access the site, in order to prevent prosecution under the state's age-verification law.

Meanwhile, X does nothing. Because it likely doesn't fear prosecution.
