Return of the Viking: Landeskog at the Olympics Gabriel Landeskog is my favorite active hockey player and is the captain of my team,the Colorado Avalanche. He is also incredibly snake bit. After lifting the Stanley Cup for the Avalanche following the 2021/2022 season, Landeskog underwent arthroscopic knee surgery. Setbacks, additional surgery, and rehab knocked him out of three seasons. He returned to the ice for the Avalanche's playoff run.

Five Rings, Five Things: The Good, The Bad, and The Ridiculous of the Olympics Thus Far – 10 February The end of competition on Tuesday brought a close on the fourth day of competition since the cauldrons of Milano Cortina were lit. Already the Games have produced a ton of memorable moments like Italy's Francesca Lollobrigida delivering her country's first Gold Medal of the Olympics, first speed skating gold, and an Olympic record, on her 35th birthday. In addition the scenery whether in Milan or in the mountains has been absolutely gorgeous to see.

A Not At All Scientific of the Best Milano Cortina Opening Ceremony Outfits The downside of having a day job is that its impossible to to watch anything that occurs outside of prime time in the central timezone. As a result, I spent the day trying to dodge Olympic Opening Ceremony spoilers so I could watch the NBC re-broadcast when it aired locally. To that end I was mostly successful, though a few things managed to seep through, like the Puccini, Rossini, and Verdi figures.

One of the interesting things about this Olympic is the visibility of drones on the course. Spotted them earlier following lugers down the course and again during Big Air. We’ve come along wad since the days of skiers following athletes down the course.

Olympic Memories: Reflections on What I Remember From Different Winter Olympics I don't know what happened to the month of January went. I had ideas for things I wanted to write about, and then life got in the way. Now we are roughly two and a half days away from the Opening Ceremonies. Being so close to the start of the Winter Olympics has made me a bit reflective. I've been thinking about what I remember from past Games.

With the start of #MilanoCortina2026 just 2 days away, I decided to reflect a bit on just what I remember from the past Winter Olympics of my lifetime. Spoiler: Its a lot more about who I was with than what I saw.

Olympic Legacies: Olympic Museums in North America I'm a huge nerd. I love history and I love sports. Ranked high among all the places I have been in my life are two sports museums, the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown and the Negro League Baseball Museum in Kansas City. Both locations perfectly blend my love of sports and history. I love wandering through the exhibits geeking out about the collected items found behind the glass an thinking about the historic events were part of and whose hands they passed through.

Feeling Olympic? : Winter Games Watch Parties and Events in the United States If you're at all like me you've been reading all the news about the upcoming Olympics. However, the Olympics are not the only major sporting event this year making news this year. FIFA will host the 2026 World Cup in 16 cities in the US, Canada, and Mexico this summer. Recently, there has been a lot of attention on the controversy regarding the World Cup organizers in New York and New Jersey deciding break precedent and charge fans to attend the Fan Fest they will hold concurrent to the tournament.
