1. Wake up at 5 am 🕔
2. Brew 2 cups of coffee ☕️☕️
3. Write for 1h 🕕
4. Morning dump 💩
5. Write 1h more until the kids wake up and the rat race begins 🕖

Applies to every day of the week, excluding mornings after hard parties 😵

Eich. That’s another one. My pops once lost a day’s worth of work to that. This was before autosave or cloud storage. You had to save everything manually, and he forgot to.

Oh definitely! Also, especially when reading to young kids, doing the voices is important. This shows the child another side of you, and teaches expressiveness.

No friends with kids? Make a friend—preferably one who comes with kids to expedite the operation—and start reading!

I submitted my work, query letter and blurb straight to them. First I got an offer from a smaller publisher, after that I called the bigger houses, telling them I have an offer on the table, which got them interested. I'm currently waiting their counter offers.

Getting published is hard, yes, but if I'd told myself daily, my chances are slim to none, I don't think I would have made it at all.

Aa Gandalf said it, "There was never much hope, just a fool's hope." Still, as writers, we must try.

At least for me, the fear of not going for it, and realizing that too late in life, was simply greater.

You prolly won't regret trying, even if you fail. But never giving it a shot? That'll haunt you.

Oh yes, they didn't "come" in a literal sense. That would have been spooky 😄 Yeah, I submitted my work to them as one should.

While writing my first novel, I held onto a line from the movie, Field of Dreams: "If you build it, they will come."

As in, "If you write it, they will publish it."

It kept me going. And now I have an offer on the table.

Build it. They will come 🙏
