Inspiration, reading and some poetry prompts from Arvon
Last week I co-tutored a lovely Arvon course on Nature and Eco-Poetry and thought Iβd write up some of the books, poems and ideas that shaped the workshops. Iβve also added a few poetry prompts in there too. Happy writing! open.substack.com/pub/hannahco...

Cover of Hannah Copley's book 'Lapwing'
I took 3 goes to get into Lapwing @hannahcopley.bsky.social but now Iβm in I can't get out. My father was not like yours. I did have an arable childhood among pee-wits, skylarks and hares, but neither the wit nor courage to stitch that stubbly dangerous world into an important book. Congratulations!

Essential conditions
Lapwing is almost a year old so Iβm writing a few pieces on substack to reflect on a year in the life of a book. Hopefully thereβs some useful advice in there too. Part one: essential conditions for publishing.
