β€œTo me, what stood out was Mark Carney β€” who we praised a lot. He stood up at Davos and said the international order was broken because it only worked for powerful countries... And I think what’s really disappointing about his statement is I guess he was only talking about trade. I guess we don’t...

Why aren’t more Europeans standing up to an illegal war! Same with Canada! They make nice speeches at conferences, but do little. Spain is becoming the leader of the free world!

Our military deserves so much better than this-they also deserve a congress that has their back.

They spent billions on regime change in Venezuela and left the Maduro's head of torture in charge.

They are now spending billions on regime change in Iran, knowing the most likely outcome will be harder line leadership.

We do not have serious people running our country.

A great honor and privilege to participate in the β€˜World in Pieces’ retreat and to be in conversation with a philosopher whose work has had such a profound impact on my life, Peter Sloterdijk.

We must call it like it is: the U.S. President has hijacked American foreign policy to empower Putin, and oppose national sovereignty and freedom.

Today marks four years since Putin launched his full-scale invasion of Ukraine, and the stakes haven’t changed: sovereignty, democracy, and whether borders can be redrawn by force. Slava Ukraini!

Good news today. The Supreme Court has struck down many of Trump's tariffs.

Sadly, this President is absolutely dedicated to making you pay these taxes. He's going to try other ways to keep them in place.

I will continue voting to block Trump's reckless tariffs in the Senate.

In Defense of Our Neighbors As the current U.S. administration is transforming immigration policies, Open Society believes in giving communities control over who comes and how they are welcomed.

Migrants being blamed for problems they did not cause isn’t new. But the headlines often miss that even in this darkness, acts of solidarity still happen. Gregory Maniatis explains our support of giving communities control when it comes to who comes and how they are welcomed: https://osf.to/3NfJAox

Lawmakers who claim to care about public safety need to stop writing ICE a blank check.

Today’s murder was unthinkable β€” but it shouldn’t come as a surprise. Without oversight, state-sanctioned violence will continue to happen.

It is understandable that people would rather forget, as our democracy is forever tainted, and others have conveniently forgotten either out of fear or sycophancy. But in order for this country to remain a nation of laws we must remember, and make sure this never can happen again. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ—½

Today is the fifth anniversary of Jan 6thβ€”a day that should live in infamy as a violent mob tried to overthrow a free and fair election result at the behest of a sitting president.

Wishing you joy and resilience this holiday season. As we end the year, we honor the people who demonstrated the courage and moral determination to demand a fairer world. We’re privileged to join them in purpose.

On this first night of Hanukkah, I am devastated by the antisemitic terrorist attack on Bondi Beach. May the candles we kindle tonight honor the memory of the victims and strengthen our resolve to bring light in such dark times.

On #HumanRightsDay, we’re spotlighting the young people across the Global South who are demanding governance systems that deliver dignity, equity, justice, and real economic opportunity.

Their message is clear: human rights must be at the center of reimagining democracy.

Horrific news today out of DC. I condemn such violence in the strongest terms and hope for a full recovery for the Guardsmen who were ruthlessly attacked.

This is how it happens: a president calls for his critics in Congress to be executed, and people try to wave it away. This is how democracies fall and open societies fracture.

No patriot should accept this.
No American should look away.
