I’d invite anyone who feels an interest of connecting to Artio to consider if they’d like to celebrate those dates and what might be a meaningful way for them to mark them.
The counterpoint is Artio Retiring which falls on 21st October (also the Feast of St Ursula), to mark the beginning of hibernation seasons.
Myself and several others celebrate Artio on two dates during the year: this is a modern syncretism and doesn’t claim ancient provenance.
Artio Rising is marked at the first new moon after Imbolc and roughly coincides with the end of hibernation season across Northern Europe and North America.
