I really like using emoticons instead of emojis, but discovering new ones and using them on mobile was really hard, so I made a website to do that!

I know other sites exist, but I prefer a simpler UI.

Although, I do hope someday someone makes something new to be another breath of fresh air. We should never stop trying to improve the tools we have today, but we also should keep building new tools as needs arise.

I’m glad to hear that! I’ve heard similar stories from so many people and I really think there’s another underlying piece of it all: The community.

The community is the reason I’ve not burned out on open-source and I think that the Rust community will be the reason Rust will have longevity.

I think it is how all the Rust systems come together in a way that I’ve not seen in other languages.

I’ve written Go, Python, JS/TS for years, but Rust is the best at inspiring confidence in your own code.

I can’t capture the value of Rust in one post, but I think my favorite aspect isn’t the Borrow Checker or the Type System, but how it all comes together to Correctness.

I always have more confidence in my Rust code compared to other languages, even when the tooling and tests are equivalent.
