I think it's more insidious than that: he's just parroting what is said to him. Someone on his Team is telling him these things and he believes them because they're positive and cast him in a good light! Why wouldn't he? He doesn't read. He's never researched.
Then he repeats them on camera.
OMG YES. This has gotten rampant since the pandemic. Everyone on the bus just plays whatever music or tv show without headphone like, excuse me, you are not at HOME.

If you’re too nice to abusers/people who violate your boundaries, people will victim blame you by saying you should have acted like Chappell Roan. But women aren’t allowed to act like Chappell Roan either.
