Dogs are better people than people are

How is one supposed to feel about a going-away party? A mix of positive energy cos seeing friends, and sad cos friend leaving. Kinda just results in... Cranky.

There should be a German word for this feeling.

I had a very productive weekend! Which, apparently, when you're nearly 34, means an exhausting weekend with bonus DOMS. My poor body

He replied nah, it would be fine if he left it then soaked it later - but washed it anyway cos he's a good human.

Whaddya know, it had already stained.

The moral of the story is maybe DO take advice RE washing 🩸 out of things from someone who's had endometriosis since she was 12 yrs old. 💅🏻

So my brother injured himself (no joke, he accidentally put his hand in the ceiling fan + it turns out they do fck you up a bit) and hurriedly grabbed one of my favourite tea towels to put on the lil cut ('sgot dogs on it)

I asked if he could wash it straight away so it didn't stain [thread...]

It overwhelms me a little bit that I can go through such awful grief in a frightening world and still have a heart so full at the same time

Starting to think I should just get one of those little tiny homes so I can live on my own and not pay rent and have minimal room to make mess

I taught three puppy classes in a row on Saturday and got great feedback and am feeling pretty proud of my little ol' self

It's a bad idea to make stupid decisions and credible threats to one of my clients, because welfare and ethics are at the core of what I do and I am damn good at writing letters.

But I am still absolutely furious on behalf of my client / dog.

I had spoken to this man a week before, and he knew client's dog was afraid of his and still elected to walk his dog right at him into this dog fight.

He then left a printout of a text in the client's mailbox with no identifying details saying he'd reported the dog to the council. Who had the text been sent to? Not my client.

Look, I know I said there was hope for humanity yet

but today I found out a client's dog was in a dog fight & the other owner threatened to k1ll client's dog, + that he knows where they live. He said this in front of her young children

This happens about once every six months if I'm lucky. I'm usually running away, feeding treats to my dog, body blocking the other dog and yelling for the owner to get their dog at the same time, while drowning in my own cortisol.

There's hope for the world yet.

Today a rare, nice thing happened when I was walking a reactive dog. Off-leash dog crested a hill metres from us. I swore & ran backwards w reactive dog. Woman with off-leash dog noticed, yelled "We'll put her on leash!" then proceeded to do so. Then walked away from us. And turned, smiled, & waved.
