The #MBTA Advisory Board is meeting to consider a report and recommendation of its Operating Budget Oversight Committee with respect to the T’s FY26 Operating Budget. Comparisons to SEPTA abide in this report.

The #MBTA Advisory Board’s Operating Budget Oversight Committee is currently meeting. Cities and towns contribute $200 million towards T operations annually. This group scrutinizes T spending on behalf of the 178 cities and towns that receive T service.

The #MBTA Advisory Board is currently meeting to review the MBTA’s proposed FY 26-30 Capital Investment Plan. Cities and towns have many questions about where the Authority’s limited infrastructure funding is programmed.

Staff are in person at today’s meeting of the #MBTA Board of Director’s Audit & Finance Committee. Today the Authority presents its draft FY26 Operating Budget.

Exec. Director Brian Kane testified before the Joint Comt on Transportation in support of House Bill H.53, urging them "to continue to lead on Chapter 90 to give cities and towns the funding necessary adequately operate and maintain the local road and bridge infrastructure that supports the MBTA.."

#MBTA officials joined the Advisory Board's Capital Budget Oversight Committee this morning to present the Proposed FY26-30 CIP. Charged by state law, this process allows municipal officials to weigh in on the MBTA's vision for the future of the system, and the plans in place to build it.
