It’s an off the shelf rack 4 bay nas from QNAP. I have a 4 bay expansion shelf for it too with 4x 8TB disks in… I “might” be a bit of a data hoarder :)

It must be that time of year again… The RAM modules in my NAS seems to fail every autumn so now I’m stuck slumming it with Netflix until some new DDR3 arrives.

Probably being overly cautious but I’m keeping the disks out until the chassis is happy again.

I seem to have become addicted to watching Discovery docuseries … I have polished off 30+ seasons of Gold Rush and Deadliest Catch over the past few months.

I also have the gay audacity after watching so many seasons to believe I’d be better at gold mining or crab fishing than most of the pro’s.

I don’t really know what to say about this week’s Star Trek Strange New Worlds episode… it had one or two moments of amusing levity but little else to redeem it.

The #homelab rack has been a bit neglected lately and needs some TLC. I replaced some gear in a hurry and didn’t have time to finesse a couple of months ago.

I’m oddly looking forward to getting this rats nest fixed.

Thank goodness for portable air conditioners. The temperature in East London had already passed 30c at noon and tomorrow may be even hotter. I'll be hiding in my lounge in front of the AC.

Thankfully I'm offsetting some of the environmental impact with some decent solar power generation this year.
