This stunt with TikTok genuinely reminds me of an abusive relationship… the constant anxiety and uncertainty is manufactured by the abuser to manipulate and control.

Trump originally called for a ban on TikTok. Now, he’s counting on people’s ignorance to claim he’ll be its savior. When people know the facts it’s less easy to manipulate them.

It's BS that TikTok was shut down. I say that as someone who only used it infrequently. I write a lot about national security—and found the national security arguments against TikTok to be surprisingly weak. Terms of service and explicit waivers could've been used to inform users of their situation.
