I met Johnny Walsh at the 2019 Staten Island Zine Fest in New York City – the mind behind ‘Infocult’, a #zine about strange information.

He was an incredibly fascinating person to talk to and he was very generous with his time.

Wherever he is these days, I hope he’s well and safe.

‘Witches, Midwives and Nurses – a history of women healers’ is a chronicle of female healing and caregiving in Western medicine.

First published in 1970 by Glass Mountain Pamphlets, then again in 1973 by The Feminist Press, its latest incarnation comes courtesy of Quiver Distro, 2009.

The interesting thing in leafing through these old ufo zines (from left to right, Scandinavian, Polish, British) is finding this wide variety of very strange, very puzzling and downright weird ufo contact cases.

Have started using zines to teach medical students about chest x-rays.
