I do also need a pickaxe! It is a lot better for my clay soil, but I don't have a good shovel for getting dirt out of the hole, just a skinny spade shovel that's better for cutting through the roots.

My comic admittedly doesn't have much fan service, but please know that I worked really hard to make sure everyone can go feral over Isaac whenever he shows up (he hates shirts)

She doesn't respect him, but she didn't explicitly reject him, and she does still fear him a bit. I've never really nailed down how enthralling works too much in the narrative, since I haven't had a chance to use it in the plot often enough :P. It's on the to do list!

You'd never guess, but somehow!!! resting fixed me!!! That's never happened to anyone ever, I'm sure.

Also K-Pop Demon Hunters legit slaps, and I'm very much hoping that, given its popularity, they have a sequel cooking with some more background lore to dive into.

I've got a mini migraine from the damn weather, so I'm taking a break by watching K-Pop Demon Hunters. It's pretty good so far! It's better for my hurty skull than staring at my computer right now til the weather mellows out later tonight.

She's just been through a lot with her last dog dying, and I don't want her to get screwed by these little fluffy potatoes that she's already so attached to 😭

She didn't seem too torn up about it. She's bought dogs from pet stores in the past, which she acknowledges probably came from puppy mills, but doesn't really know how you'd get a shih-tzu that isn't bred that way. (It is possible around here tho.) I'm just worried they'll get parvo or something

Oh man, the pitbull buyers make no sense to me. We have thousands of them here in NW Indiana, but my neighbor bought a pitbull puppy (and never had him fixed). It was just ignorance on his part, but that dog didn't live terribly long. I think he made it to 10 before he had too many health problems.

For sure, I've known a few younger people who fell down the same trap, especially traveling through Amish country from Illinois for a puppy. But she found the ad in the paper, and all I can think of is that this seller knew the audience they were targeting from the get go. She's not internet savvy.

The problem is that it's hard to hate people too hard when they also make banger furniture and butter and pie. If you don't look into it too hard, they seem like they're just absolutely killing it on the fronts that we're able to see. Then you find out they work their livestock to death 🤷‍♀️

Okay, off to post my comic page and whatnot for the day. If anyone knows why a guy in the middle of nowhere would be selling puppies alongside mystery Canadian dog food (a good brand though!), let me know lol. Maybe he's totally legit and I'm just a hater...

Nutram theoretically distributes to the US, but they have no locations to buy it anywhere near us that I can find, or near where she bought the puppies. SIGH. I think she bought some illegal puppies with shady cross-border connections somehow. She said her previous shih-tzus were just from stores.

I don't think AKC is worth anything, but it does show an investment into the puppies and makes their lineage traceable. To top it all off, he sold her a brand of Canadian dog food for the puppies (until she transitions them to a new brand) that's not available ANYWHERE near here. WTF is that???

My neighbor said the parents of the puppies weren't on site (red flag), and that the gentleman she bought them from didn't have vaccination paperwork (sigh) or AKC paperwork (but said the parents had papers...hm), but showed her the vials from the vaccines he claims to have given the puppies.
