I think they should've taken advantage of all that extra run time to really lean into Nessa's situation as Elphaba's motivation more 🙃🙃🙃

Yeah, I think that guilt was supposed to be the main driving force, but they didn't bring it up again, so it felt disconnected. I think what I needed was just leaning into Elphaba being really stripped of her new self-assurance when it comes to Nessa, because she seemed kind of cold about it all.

Idk, I think I like the first movie better. My friend said she liked this one a lot, though she was surprised that it ended when it did, because she thought it wasn't over yet. The little girl next to me was crying for the last 40 minutes, so she was clearly really into it lol

I've read the book, but it's been a really long time. Maybe it's that the Elphaba I have in my head is a little bit less self-assured than how Cynthia Erivo plays her, so what she puts up with from her sister doesn't make as much sense for her character in the movie. Erivo is fantastic, though.

The parts with Nessa seemed rushed. I think they tried to make her character as filled-out as they could, but what works in a fast-paced musical feels strange in a movie. It felt like she wasn't in enough scenes to fully understand any of her actions, but she motivated the whole plot.

I saw the Wicked sequel, and I knew the 2nd one was going to be a bit nuts from the musical and the book, and it was. I enjoyed it! I think they did their best with the source material. Ariana Grande's lip filler had me in a confused trance for a lot of her scenes, but I think she's a good Glinda.

Very much depends on the style! The Troopa boots are my combat boot of choice. They do run kind of small/narrow, but the leather on them is fairly thin, which is nice. Anything made after like, 2015/2016 is kind of awful by comparison to their older stuff, though. That's all brands, unfortunately.

Anyway, if you want some cheap leather goods, which are very eco-friendly and will last just about forever, please buy secondhand. I got some leather Converse from ThredUp for $6 on sale and was able to clean and condition them into looking brand new. Used leather is absolutely the best stuff.

Don't get me wrong, when I sold shoes, Steve Madden definitely tended to skimp compared to some of the more expensive brands, but their stuff was still leather, well designed, and generally well made. Their stuff now is...slightly better than trash? Everything is. The quality drop is precipitous.

I'm selling some of the shoes I've rescued and revived from the Goodwill Bins, and a gal who bought some Steve Madden combat boots off of me liked them so much that she messaged me to rave about the quality and how she didn't know Steve Madden made anything that nice. Sadly, they don't anymore!

I did add that insulation stuff to her chosen hiding spot (a covered litter box I wasn't using), but so far, she shuns all other attempts at providing her better spots lol. So I'm trying to just make her spot of choice as comfy as possible.

That's what I'm hoping. As long as it's an option, she'll use it if she has to. I put her litter box in front of the heated box, so she's aware it's there. And cats sense heat, too.

I have a big Styrofoam cooler just for that reason, but she picked her spot and avoids all my other offerings lol

My personal hobby is slowly introducing the concept of comfort and warmth to this feral ass cat because I find her stupid face charming and want her to thrive, even if she'll never like me. I'm unreasonably devoted to her.

I do need to hunt down some straw tomorrow at Tractor Supply. I noticed her blanket has been attracting moisture, I think from condensation while she's sleeping. I added more reflective insulation to her box and the garage is holding temp above freezing. It's not drafty, just big, so it gets cold.

I'm gonna have to up my catnip spray game, because I redid Mama cat's weird litter-box-turned-hiding-spot and added a hot water bottle for the night, and I think now she's avoiding it. Sigh. She's feral, and while she tolerates my existence, she's suspicious of everything. (So is her dumbest son.)

Uuugh that's so many lamps lol. I do have the standard happy light type lamp and a lot of grow lights for my plants, but idk what I'm missing

Extremely relatable lol. I remember multiple springs where I was clearly underdressed for the temperature, but I just wanted to wear fewer clothes and soak in some actual sun again 😭. The sunny states can't relate!

What I need to do is give in and one, go to the doctor and be like "this weather is fucking me up, man" and two, plan a short trip to Florida just to remember what it feels like to be warmed by the sun.

I cannot over state how poorly I function in the winter when it's dark and cold and there's a foot of snow on the ground. I think the amount of vitamin D I would need to supplement with to solve this would probably kill me in some roundabout way. No, the various lamps and lights don't solve it.

I do have the reflective bubble wrap stuff! That's been my go to. I also put it under her litter box so the ground isn't too cold there.

It's in the garage, so there's no extra moisture to worry about and it's elevated off the ground in the cat house that's made for this heating pad. It's all meant to be water right, so that helps, and it doesn't get as hot as a normal heating pad thankfully

She's inside the garage, her current hiding spot has a fleece blanket with a piece of insulated reflective bubble wrap stuff under it, so hopefully that'll trap in her body heat pretty well. She set up shop in an unused covered litter box I had stored out there, so I've been trying to make it warm

Tried that, but she just ignores it lol. She likes catnip spray, but she ignores that too if she doesn't want to go somewhere lol
