The Trump administration is going to do something I didn’t think was possible: It’s going to de-cringe Pride. Talking to people who haven't gone to Pride for years... or ever... and they're all going, and they're all in "Stonewall was a riot" frames of mind.

Students taking part in a volcanic eruption simulation (Auckland Volcanic Field) at the Laboratoire Magmas et Volcans, UCA, France.

Had a super time at LMV (UCA, France) helping run the Auckland Volcanic Field eruption Simulation (originally developed by @jdohaney.bsky.social). Big thx to Jan Lindsay & Bastian Steinke (U.Auckland) for all the help.

An amazing way to bring students a bit closer to being in a "true" 🌋 crisis!

A graphic illustrating the different layers of Earth and their theorized textures. The inner core is solid. The outer core flows like honey. The mantle is a softer solid. The Asthenosphere is a putty-like solid. The lithosphere is a crumbling solid.

I've always been fascinated by Earth's interior and how scientists have described their textures. I decided to make my own slice while at @newsela.bsky.social. #geology, #earth, #platetectonics
