Although it has its flaws, Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake is a faithful recreation of a beloved classic. 👻📸🦋

I had a great time with it, even if combat is its biggest problem.

Save 10% on Never Grave: The Witch and The Curse on Steam A Metroidvania x Roguelite where you journey with the aid of a cursed hat. Use a variety of magic or possess your enemies to reach the lowest levels! Bring back loot, build new facilities in your vill...

Struggling to upload the footage, but big shout out to Never Grave for having the coolest farming mechanic: allowing you to beat the shit out of crop fields with your sword to make vegetables grow quicker.

Game is also pretty fucking great.

Rape is now just “controversial” I guess.

Absolute evil exists on earth and it's zionism and US imperialism. More than 770 people died, major infrastructure destroyed in a country already weakened by an economic crisis, and bound to get invaded by a genocidal force... So yeah, it's hard to be ok these days.

It remains damning that "from the river to the sea" is criminalized to the point that thought police has evaporated a great rally cry for freedom from common use, but genocide and international law breaches and group rape of hostages with knives are in the "it's not the time to lecture" bucket.

I love the "could this be a solution" post because it's a perfect example of Founder brain. You have to be a special kind of stupid to imagine that you are the first person to come up with the idea of driving around the Strait of Hormuz. It's being so dumb that you think everyone else is even dumber

And to drive home how truly evil Israel is - there's currently only one person still under criminal prosecution as consequence of this "another Israeli crime against humanity": the chief military advocate who released a video of the Israelis forcing a knife into a handcuffed man's anus to the world.

It really says something that an official in Israel, where they deny the genocide in Gaza, can use the phrase "Look like Gaza" in this way.

I try not to do ranty threads anymore, but man, this Valve GDC graph has just rubbed me up unbelievably badly

This was presented as a good thing - "more games are finding success!" -- when actually the data has just been presented in a tricksy way to make it look like everything is fine

Google's Genie 3 world models start to break down after around a minute In a talk at GDC, Google DeepMind said the generative AI tech is not intended to replace traditional video games

For fuck sake. This is not news!

EVERYONE, in AI who had a pinch of integrity was shouting this from the rooftops the moment this thing was announced.

But we had to wait until Google take the stage to admit it??? What the fuck are we doing?

General rules of thumb on how to approach people using SteamDB to legitimize some nonsense drama ("game dead" etc):
1. they lack full data (especially valid for multiplatform games);
2. 90% of them can't interpret data well;
3. they don't understand how people play.

To further emphasise point 1:

The utter joke of spending billions of $, firing countless talented people, while also heavily fucking up the environment, and STILL your "breakthrough tech's" measurement of success is generating shittier versions of "My Trade" topics from Morrowind.

And somehow with even less character or charm.

I am a bit late on this #My9games bit.

HoMM3 spot was actually a toss up between it and WC3 Frozen Throne mainly thanks to both of them pushing me into countless hours spent in campaign editors.

Speaking in retrospect, she seems more of a tool character, then again I felt even Leon had a surprisingly short weapon progression (only 1 other pistol variant outside of Matilda for CP).

More surprised that she didn't get to have a chance to go ham with Requiem in the climax.

There won't be any reporting on this in the US btw because the US / UK backs the monarchy in Bahrain and therefore their people don't need liberating and should not liberate themselves.

Only countries the US does not currently control, like Iran, deserve regime change that everyone cheers for.

Very interesting to see Expedition 33 analyzed in the context of French history & politics. Turn on those subtitles and listen to voices from all across the world - they'll expand your horizons and help you grow.

Oh and just remember - once you’ve decided a minority’s human rights are up for debate, you’ve decided HUMAN RIGHTS ARE UP FOR DEBATE.

To everybody who framed all of this as “The Trans Debate,” well done! You’ve opened the door to The Anybody Debate.

A stat screen for a finished campaign of Resident Evil: Requiem.
The screen shows results for finishing campaign on Standard (Classic) difficulty in 14hr 20min

We do it.

Only complaint is that Leon's sections felt much weaker than Grace's (which are excellent).
There is one example of a superb (albeit short) encounter he has that calls back to RE4 style area gimmicks, but the rest I feel just don't reach the same level of excitement.

Man, Endfield just can't leave my thoughts.

I am so frustrated at what that game could have been, it's actually making me upset. Bothers me almost to the point of obsession.
