During my sabbatical I’ve aimed to spend a couple of days each week working from college. Today was my first day back in the New Year. One advantage of it being dark at 5pm is seeing the lovely stained glass windows glow in the chapel.

Meanwhile the Royal Society still boasts of having Musk within its fellowship.

As an Australian, spending Christmas in cold dark UK still feels odd, even after living here for 10 years. Sometimes you have to brighten the night. This year we went to the lights at the Cambridge Botanic gardens.

Sometimes Cambridge is all about admissions, exams, lectures and supervisions. But then there’s also surprise singers on the river wearing Santa hats.
