Movie hot take of the day: SCREAM 3 is good, actually. The Hollywood setting is fun, Neve Campbell has great chemistry with Patrick Dempsey and I kinda wish Sid had ended up with him in the series. Parker Posey is a blast. It's more of a Gail and Dewey movie than a Sidney one, but I'm ok with that.

Anybody ever read professional scripts and ache because despite all your best efforts you feel like you'll never be that good?

Anyway, I'm reading THE MARTIAN again.

I'm actually glad there are no James Bond movies being produced now because we'd have Elon Musk paying the producers millions to put Bond in a Cybertruck and then 007 would die when he can't get out of his burning Tesla

It's been a long last two weeks at work, but I've kept a steady pace on my current rewrite and hit page 30 today. May have had to drag myself out of bed after my post workout 2hr nap and staggered down Ventura to Starbucks to do it, but I made it happen.

Since it's SCREAM weekend (again) and the Ghostface Killer is on the loose (again), it brings to mind PARTY OF FIVE, which made Neve Campbell a star. It's a bit lost to time now, but that was good show, I was the right age for it, and the pilot script is really worth seeking out. It's very good.

My most recent reads are The Martian and Conan (the Milius one). Currently most of the way through Wake Up, Dead Man. The styles are all sooooo different from each other.

When you unplug the fridge, leave yourself a note reminding yourself to plug it back in. Or put your keys or wallet inside it. I've ruined more groceries by forgetting than i care to remember.

Add this to the list of massacres that jerk is responsible for.

I had a work week that seemed to last a month, so I didn't get any writing done this week -- until I stumbled out of my place around noon and plopped myself down at Starbucks to rewrite three scenes from my current man v nature thriller.

Feels good to keep going : )

I read recently where the director was at a test screening where he went into the restroom afterward and overheard two audience members discussing how much they hated the film. He left thinking, "Oh, my god. My career is over!" Luckily, the rest of us felt differently.
