We want to thank every volunteer who came out to make the morning a complete cleaning success. In just two hours, the land went from litter strewn to green and spotless. There will be no cleaning this weekend. However, I would like to invite you to hold the morning of February 7th open. That Saturday morning will be the first morning with us cleaning at an all new location, the Eden Canyon Road 580 entry/exit: https://maps.app.goo.gl/E4bgwzSUKsPqGfxL6 This is our first cleaning in the Eden area. If you have friends or family in the Eden and Palomares road areas, invite them to join us. Calling greening volunteers to a new Corral Park space this coming Saturday for some caretaking actions on the land. This is a volunteer only event. We will be trimming back overgrown trees and plants, creating swales for the coming rains, assessing the land for future caretaking, and clearing any litter from the space to ensure that greenery can take hold and flourish. We meet at the corner of Lake Chabot Road and Carlton Avenue. Working from 9am to 1pm. Please dress for work in weeds and forest spaces. Bring any clippers, rakes, or tree shaping tools you might have available. We will provide gloves, water, snacks, and warm thanks for your help. The goal, for the morning is to take this first step in maintaining the space for native plant care as well as to support fire abatement efforts. Direct message us with any questions.
