5) Shenmue (Remaster)

It’s very charming and ambitious considering the time it originally came out. The remaster is fine. Audio is very muffled. Some of its aspects have not aged that well (movement, camera, time management) but it has a lot of heart. The last third is very weak progression wise.

I’M FINALLY FREE FROM THE FORKLIFT RACE & WORK LOOP IN SHENMUE 😩

That long ass fight was also a slog but hey, I saved my girl and rode with her at 3:00am on a bike. We good.

I’ve done 4 days so far, luckily, I think I have been triggering all the events (I’ve had a mix of cutscenes and fights everyday) I just want to be free from this prison 😂 The game is very charming but it does feel dated (for lack of a better word) in some places.

Man, I’m on the last stretch to finish Shenmue 1 and it’s dragging so bad. Im fully aware that it’s a game from its time and can appreciate what it accomplished then but this Groundhog Day ass loop of racing/working the forklift & waiting at lunch/night for something to progress is killing me.

That is was a great Konami Direct (and State of Play lol)

Lots there picked my interest. Now the wait to see what’s coming to switch 2 so I can decide what and where I’m buying.

The game gets unintentionally funny when some English words get incorporated into the dialogue.

I’m halfway through Shenmue 1 (PS4 remaster). It’s impressive given the time the OG came out. The stiff movement & camera took a while to get used to but they don’t bother me that much anymore. Progression is somewhat all over the place though. There’s a lot of dead air even with doing side stuff.

Just 9 more houses to run credits in the Animal Crossing DLC and I’ll finally be free (unless it gets another update 😅)

Beat the Pragmata Demo on Switch 2. Outside of some blurry shadows and hair textures, I’m surprised how well this game is looking and even more impressed that it is running at 60fps. Seems that the finished product is shaping to be good to great.

Well done Capcom, you’ve sold me on the game.

Benito did amazing. There’s so much history and culture packed in his performance. Makes one feel very proud.

4) Control Ultimate Edition

A fun & weird game. Liked the horror & Metroid like vibes of it. The action gameplay and supernatural powers are cool. The story was messy, it has an interesting premise however, the ending felt rather weak. I ended up liking it a lot. I’m now sold on the coming game.

Aaand done with Control! Clocked ~30 hours. Now back to Shenmue 1, Animal Crossing and FF7 Remake.

Finished the Control AWE (Alan Wake) DLC. It’s good. I can only imagine how hype must’ve been seeing the tease for Alan Wake II. The second to last boss fight was a pain in the ass. I really like the game’s horror vibe. I felt it more playing this.
Just one more DLC to go and I’ll be done with it.

This is what I’m getting from what was announced at the Partner Showcase.

Not too bad all things considered.

The Hollow Knight update may finally get me to play and beat the game. I bought it a few years ago during the Silksong announcement craze. I’ve tried starting it twice already and just couldn’t get into it. Maybe third time will be the charm.

Since I own on PS5 most of the games announced & that I’m very choosy when double dipping with games, this Partner Direct was on the lowkey side for me.

However, had I been a Switch 2 only guy, I’d be struggling a lot to keep up with everything coming out. Overall, this slate of games’ strong.

Rolled credits for the base game. So far so good. I’m definitely all in for the weird, psychological, semi-metroidvania bs. On to the DLCs! Alan Wake needs me apparently.

Now why was Clair Obscur the first thing that came to mind after hearing this tape? 🗿

Played through the maze section… This game goes wildly unhinged at times.
