One in four renters struggles to retrieve full deposit after tenancy, new poll finds
Survey also finds one in four respondents had to borrow money from their friends or family to cover their deposit
High deposits are locking people out of housing - @generationrent.bsky.social's research shows one in four renters have to borrow money to cover their deposit.
The govt should consider a deposit passporting scheme to let renters move deposits between tenancies.
