Of course folk can choose their words. My comment wasn't aimed at you per se.

Most of the commentary about Katter today, and in general, is in the space of somehow excusing his behaviour coz he's eccentric / quirky / funny / mad etc. His behaviour isn't ok.

Yep. Wonder how many elections it will take for Labor/Libs to get message from electorate they aren't buying what they are selling & both need to adapt.

How arrogant for Labor to say any crossbench (validly elected) member would have to give up their policies & follow Labor policies.

Thanks. Yes. That's what it looks like from a distance.
I wasn't sure whether I was missing some of the finer, nuanced local detail and context that may offer some hope.

You seem to think folk voted Labor coz of the past. Maybe they did. Some voted Labor to try & protect future from conservative, right wing govt that may lead to some kind of the crazy going on in world. Suggest you dial it back & be kind to folk who respond. Folk can vote as they like. Democracy.

They love Paris, don't they. I agree with you about visiting Euro cities in winter - very different experience. Having said that, am planning a trip for Sept/ Oct. Hopefully at least the summer crowds will have left.

Parliament should pass truth in political advertising laws when we sit next week and ban deepfakes in election campaigns.

The govt has a bill sitting there, they should bring on a vote.

I heard on radio a pitch for folk to get flu shots now as season started already. May be a factor.

Survey about how we see the future should worry politicians There is a startling new figure that will make Anthony Albanese and his Labor team very nervous going into this pre-election season.

In a wealthy country like ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ our most vulnerable shouldnโ€™t be living below the poverty line.

I look forward to the release of the next independent expert committee report being released tmrw & call on govt to โฌ†๏ธ safety net in the budget.

Live: Heavy rain expected tonight as Cyclone Alfred looms off south-east Queensland The Bureau of Meteorology is now predicting Cyclone Alfred to cross the coast Friday night or early Saturday morning, most likely between Noosa and Coolangatta.

Northern Rivers NSW SES says buses are now available to pick up evacuees at four bus stops in Lismore every 30 mins.

The buses will go from the Lismore area to the Southern Cross Uni evacuation centre.

SES says these buses will pivot to higher frequency if passenger demand is higher than expected
