While we're at it, let me bring your attention to H.J.Res.140. In Jan, congress introduced a way to open the protected Boundary Waters in MN to a Chilean copper mining co. If this loophole works, they can use to sell off ANY public land.

they are also EXTREMELY important carbon sinks. these old forests are incredibly effective at removing co2 from the air. this would be yet another thing that drives us further into the no return of climate change.

Old temperate forests are insanely rare nowadays and extremely important ecosystems lost forever once cut.
They're not just "old trees" but intricate networks of trees, fungi and all kinds of living creatures.
You CANNOT replant this!! Once it's gone it's lost FOREVER!!!
