It’s on my shelf! I loved Michael Sierra-Arevalo’s The Danger Imperative but I still need to read The Policing Machine.
What is the most thought-provoking paper about policing published in the past two years?

It's harder to get funding for basic research projects than ever before in Australia.
The @arc_gov_au Discovery Projects scheme now has the lowest “success rate” ever: 16.3%.
Only 1 in 6 grants are funded.
Why? The funding available has plummeted.
Please help, Jason Clare MP❗️
Congratulations!

We better be careful because with banter of this calibre, we may become Bsky influencers, with all ten active users of the platform looking to us for a steady stream of wit and wisdom. I don't think I'm ready for that much power or responsibility, especially without monetisation opportunities!
Haha. There are quite a few Canberras of Canberra in Canberra to be fair!
Time will tell
Bluesky appears to be the Canberra of social media platforms, but I think I'm OK with that at this point in my life and career. In any case, I look forward to seeing the posts of people I actually follow once again.
