It's harder to get funding for basic research projects than ever before in Australia.
The @arc_gov_au Discovery Projects scheme now has the lowest βsuccess rateβ ever: 16.3%.
Only 1 in 6 grants are funded.
Why? The funding available has plummeted.
Please help, Jason Clare MPβοΈ

We better be careful because with banter of this calibre, we may become Bsky influencers, with all ten active users of the platform looking to us for a steady stream of wit and wisdom. I don't think I'm ready for that much power or responsibility, especially without monetisation opportunities!
