I don’t think we talk enough about how the foundational, most aspirational premise of the AI industry is “what if there was a human-level intelligence that didn’t have human rights.” Like. Exploitation is literally the whole point! Of COURSE they hold human life, intelligence and labour in contempt!

Uggghhhh. I hate to say it, but I got a whole new insomnia pattern as part of perimenopause. I would fall asleep like normal and then wake up after 4-6 hours and be totally unable to go back to sleep. I hope you can get some relief from this along with the other symptoms!
(Also, you should totally watch the show! It holds up remarkably well!)

Once on a panel for a professional conference, someone asked me if technology gives me hope for access.
I said let’s get ramps on every building first, and the tech bro manager was PISSED. People want to believe that they invented the answer to systemic issues…without understanding the issues.
