Still, I recommend giving it a look if only for the artwork! Its messier parts echo ideas I've had and thought were cool in the past, and maybe that's why I'm quick to brush them aside for now. In a few months after I've run more sessions, maybe I'll have a stronger opinion!
I think most of the player-facing stuff works pretty well, since it resembles D&D, but a lot of the GM and prep info, while full of cool ideas, leave many gaps for interpretation that might be harder for GMs lacking in experience or confidence. The setting's info can also be inconsistent or vague.
Tried running the TTRPG "Tales From Myriad" today. The art in it is beautiful, and we had a lot of fun. I like its exploding dice, as well as how you generate gear at character creation! My only gripes are that some rules and info are kind of hard to find or not explained as much as I would like...

This was a classic in my family, especially for long car rides.
This was also my thought for a long time, but after all these years of failure to spread, I can't help but think it must be something else that makes people not want to pick up our games despite being recommended them. If someone's reaction is "Eh, maybe later," we're failing.
Even still, if you don't mind, I'd like to hear your complaints for this short impression. You gotta assume I'm stupid in this case and don't know what you mean by level and enemy design being more interesting.
