I've been making pate de fruit these last few weeks. So far I have Pear Yuzu and Mirabelle.
I think I will make Mulberry next.
What create things are you doing/working on?

I texted Nerd and told him I was craving a Croque Monsieur. He asked me what it was and described the French ham and cheese sammich to him.
Now he wants one too!

Don't tell anyone but I think I have a little crush on Samin Nosrat.
She's beautiful, creative, warm, and friendly.
I'm looking for some scifi, fantasy series to watch. Bonus if it has mystery elements.
What shows do you suggest I watch?
Didja know that humans have the same amount of vertebrae as a giraffe?
Now ya do.
You're welcome.
Yesssssss. That drop in the belly, that feeling of dread you feel...love it.
07.08.2025 12:35 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I always know I'm gonna like a movie when I get chills from watching the trailer. Same for TV shows too.
You... how can you tell you're gonna like a TV show or movie?
Besides me does anyone else see elephants and want to lotion their skin?
Just me? Okay.
I love watching ASMR with ladies being kind to me. Offering tea, providing tips on how to look my best, them sharing how they like to relax.
Should I be embarrassed?
My doctor says I'm Vitamin D deficient. She said, If you were a Victorian child we'd say you have rickets.
I told her rickets sounds posh.
She did not agree.
I stumbled onto Sabrina Carpenter and like that Espresso song.
I can't sing it because I don't know the words except for Espresso.
Something, something, something... espresso... something, something, something.... espresso...
What's your favorite comfort show to watch?
Recently I rewatched EUREKA and GREASE: Rise of the Pink Ladies
How about you?
Am I the only one who loved Olivia Newton-Jones and John Travolta in the movie TWO OF A KIND?
And the soundtrack was fiyah!
Ha! Ain't that the truth?!

An abusive ex found me on FB and told me that they now know Hoodoo and are gonna come after me.
25 yrs ago I cast a mirror spell. Meaning that whatever they wished on me reflected back on them.
Go ahead.

I woke up late and my plan had been to get to SIFT bake shop early.
I waited a while in line and got my standard bakery item- chocolate croissant.
It was flaky in all the right spots and chocolatey where it counted.
It was worth the wait and long drive.
Okay, New England has the fall and the lobster roll on lock.
That said, there are a few ways lobster rolls are presented. I have discovered that I'm a butter and lobster roll kinda person.
Bad for my cholesterol but great for my taste buds.
Just link me y'all's current playlist.
I'll get my new supply of music that way.
:)
Hybrid, Lindsey Sterling, Zero 7, Ronald Jenkins, Glitch Mob...
17.06.2025 15:03 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I'm older and I haven't refreshed my playlist with more modern music.
Help me out.
What current musicians and music should I be listening to?
My new favorite thing on the clock app is when opera singers refer to a composer's work as a "banger".
13.06.2025 19:50 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Who's a film director or writer you like? Why?
I'll go first.
Wes Anderson.
He directs the actors to show little emotion on their face, but the dialogue does the heavy lifting.
Just so we're clear...
The library and librarians are not neutral.
So far California Grrl is holding up. I admit to feeling odd when I discard some of the batch to make room for fresh flour.
I may need a few more days to build up my starter. It doesn't have a lot of bubbles yet.
I did it! I finally started my sourdough starter.
California Girl is alive!
Okay not fully. It's only day 3.
But still...go me for doing the thing!
There's a wasp in the library causing a ruckus.
Be proud of me not burning this place down or going the way of my character Alex in my novel MISE EN DEATH.

I read the OP and thought:
And?
I know I'm behind by several years but should I share my California Girl Sourdough Starter adventure?
And yes, that's what I'm naming it.
California Grrrrrrrrrrl
Nerd: I wonder why hot water sounds different than cold when it's poured.
Me: The hot water is fat.
Nerd: (looks it up) How water has more viscosity.
Me: Like I said, the water is fatter.
Nerd: That's not-
Me: Fat Water!!!
I think I figured out how to make a sourdough starter that will taste like the kind I had as a kid growing up in California.
The problem is that I'm so afraid of doing it wrong that I haven't started.
I hate this feeling.
How do y'all psych yourself into doing the thing?
