Harlequin is dumping the Historical line??

Not as surprised about AAR. Their website has been unusable for awhile. Like others, I started there mumblemumble years ago but its been a while since they were even a stop in my Romancelandia tour.

Clarence Major on what he calls Afro-American slang: "Black English is a powerful medium of self-defense against a world demanding participation while at the same time laying a boobytrap-network of rejection and exploitation." This is followed by an explanation of the use of the word "man" among Black men in reaction to being called "boy" by whites.

Maybe not quite so "fun," but definitely demonstrates the power of slang

How I learned that MTV (that is, 24-hour music channels on TV) is ending. Somehow, it fits.

The Kallax white cube cat house, halfway under the bed and against the back wall. It is a white wooden cube with a cat-face cutout serving as an opening. An ice cream cone cat toy lingers a few feet away.

Mr B's Christmas gift from Senior Cat Staff (aka my parents) is the Kallax cube from IKEA. Hopefully he will appreciate an under-bed hidey-hole, especially the next time the vacuum cleaner it out 😹
