Every year my road does a Christmas lights turn on. We all do it together then gather around a tree for mulled wine, hot chocolate and mince pies.

Even now if you are sewing something very firm ( like a stiff leather) you might use a bradawl to make the actual hole then the needle to pull the thread through. Maybe that's how fragile bone needles worked too

My local park has quite a few flitting about in the conifers. I am often found standing there watching carefully. Easy to hear them, hard to see!

There are lots of them in my local park. I can hear them easily but I do get some funny looks standing under the trees trying to spot them
